Red Scarf Fundraising Drive 2009

The annual fundraising drive for the Red Scarf Fund is currently ongoing in my regular blog, from now to midnight Eastern Time, December 15, 2009.  

There are loads of prizes to be won!

Here are the rules:

1 chance to win for every $5 donation.

Winners are chosen at random.  

When someone wins, only one "ticket" (the equivalent of one $5) donation, is removed from their count. For example, if you donate $20 and win something, you could win three more times.  (Or you might not win at all. It is completely random.)

CHECK BACK OFTEN!!!

The final big drawing will take place December 16, 2009, but surprise drawings take place all along the way, on a random basis

This is still September for another few hours, and September is the traditional time for me to shift into high gear with regard to the Red Scarf Project. What better timing than for this new book to come out just a few days ago? And look who has an extra copy:

How's about a good old fashioned Red Scarf fundraising contest?

The rules:

1.  For every $5 donation you make to the Red Scarf Fund For Foster Youth, you get one chance at a drawing for my extra copy of Craft Activism.

2.  You are on your honor (I trust my readers) to tell me how many entries you have in the contest. 

3.  Write an email with the subject line "donation" to THIS EMAIL ADDRESS (only):  [email protected], including the following information:

• Your name (first name and last initial are fine, if you prefer) 
• The amount of your donation

4.  Contest will be open until midnight ET next Friday, October 7.

5.  Winner will be announced by the following week.

Piles of red scarves to die for!

Updated Totals as of 1/14/10

LATE-BREAKING NEWS: As of this evening (1/14/10) after a sorting event yesterday, the totals stand as follows: Scarves received, 2,697 (I believe 3,000-3,500 is the goal) Donations in the form of gift cards, cash, checks, and the like: $4,417.20 I don't yet have an updated total of the Paypal donations. The MOST exciting news (at least to me) is that the quality is much much higher than before -- all thanks to our work, I believe. We are all so happy! I'm awaiting an answer to my question to the OFA: Should I encourage people to send in more scarves, or do they still have more boxes to unpack. If it turns out they need more, I hope if you've already got your first scarf completed for 2010, that you'd be willing to send it in. Thanks again, everyone!!!!! XO Norma
