The Red Scarf Project called my name for a number of
reasons. First, I'm a novice knitter and scarves are right up my
alley. I used this to try some new stitches (Trinity stitch - which made a
beautiful variegated scarf), try some new patterns/techniques
(Multidirectional scarf), use up some eyelash yarn (bought in the beginning of my yarn adventures)
and
try a new shape (kind of wavy). Second, the thought of kids being sent off to
college without ever receiving mail or care packages made me so sad. I
loved to receive packages while away at school. And I enjoyed sending them to my
oldest son and will enjoy it again when we send off our youngest son in
August. So here is a picture of 5 scarves that I will send off as soon as
I make some tags and goodies to go
along. I have one more scarf on the needles that will be finished this
weekend. I love that it is being done
centered around Valentine's Day as this is a special day in my heart for it is
my oldest son's birthday!
