It's time!  It's time!  You can mail your scarves starting next week.

Don't forget:  A note of encouragement (or about you or your knitting group) attached to the scarf, washing instructions, and if you are so inclined, a small gift card to a national chain would all be highly appreciated.  Thank you, everyone, for your lovely scarves!

I'll keep the contest open until February 3rd.  Send me your photos of your finished scarves.  For each scarf you complete, you are entered in the drawing for prizes of yarn or chocolate or E.Z. books.  Also, if you have prizes you wish to donate, let me know.

Happy Boxing Day

The day after Christmas comes with news of several finished scarves. 

Lindsey H. has finished two, and shares that her church group is working on more.  They usually knit prayer shawls, but have taken up the cause of the the red scarves during the holidays. 

Excellent!

Jersey Shore Deb has finished two scarves, as well. 

Knitty's "Wave" scarf (Lindsey did one of those also -- see above) and the scarf that Ann Budd designed for this project.  Cool colors!

And Angie completed a scarf, also.  Details can be found on her blog. 

Happy Boxing Day, everyone!  :)  You can box up your scarves now, but please don't mail them until January.  I'll put up reminders about mailing.  The address is in the sidebar, but I'll post it again, as well.  Thank you for all your efforts!

Friends Help Friends Make Red Scarves

I inspired my friend Cori to complete 2 UFOs. She turned them over to me for finishing and blocking.  She said she might get a 3rd one done before January. It feels good to be a multiplier, by getting more scarves done by more people. You must feel really good about it.

Calling for Your Eagle Eyes Again

I got very busy at the end of the week, and I think I may have missed some scarves for the gallery.  Please, if you notice that yours is not in there, will you let me know?  Thanks, everyone!  By the way, may I just say that everyone has been awesome, without me even asking, about putting some variation of "Red Scarf" in the subject lines of their emails about the project.  That helps tremendously, and I never even needed to ask!  Fab. 

The holidays are upon us, and I know everyone is very busy.  If you are looking for some mindless knitting to do during your holiday celebrations, please think of knitting for the Red Scarf Project.  Yesterday when I had lunch and knitting with Margot, she had purchased some Lorna's Laces worsted, in the same colorway (Tuscany) I used for my multi-directional scarf, to use for the Red Scarf Project.  It was amazing to see how the dye lot differed from mine.  I can't wait to see how her scarf turns out! 

The scarves can be mailed throughout the month of January (but not before).  I will inquire of Annalisa as to the last date they may be received at orphan.org and will announce it here in the blog and in my main blog.  Don't worry -- I'll remind you!
