Let me tell you about a few more of the prizes you stand to win, one chance for every $5 you donate to the Red Scarf Fund For Foster Youth.
Kathy D. has donated a pair of Lantern Moon rosewood needles and the book A Three Dog Life by Abigail Thomas. Kathy highly recommends the book and describes it as a memoir of a woman who knits. Thank you, Kathy!
-----------------
Ann K., otherwise known as VATERgrrl, has donated a Bosworth midi top-whorl spindle in bubinga wood (1.6 oz.) and a bag of merino roving, 4 oz. of "merino Swirl" pink/purple/light blue, from Stony Mountain Fibers. Bosworth spindles are simply gorgeous, and the favorite of many an accomplished spindle-spinner. And Stony Mountain Fibers, mmmm, gorgeous! Ann, thank you.
----------------
Beccaie Jamieson donated these two yummy skeins of Koigu in some of my favorite colors. Thank you Beccaie! If this were mine, I'd make a scarf out of it -- not socks. Imagine that pretty color near the face. Or you could take the sock route, too, of course. :)
--------------
Here's one that made me gasp. Cathy-Cate is donating this scrumptious skein of Handmaiden cashmere and silk:
--------------
And my great friend Gale, photographer extraordinaire, who has done so much for the Red Scarf Project in the past and present (remember she accompanied me to the photo shoot and meetup with two lovely OFA recipients a couple years ago, and to Capitol Hill for photos, and so much more?), has donated a copy of her book Sheer Spirit and a 350 yard skein of 13 Mile Lamb & Wool ranch's 100% organic wool in sportweight, indigo -(13 Mile is one of the fiber farms in the book).

--------------
Elaine Caron has donated the following gorgeous yarns. I was running out of steam in writing this entry, but I just have to put these in for the eye-candy effect, and I had fun making a mosaic out of it. Thank you, Elaine!

Socks That Rock Medium weight Pink Granite 380yds
Socks That Rock Lightweight Flower Power 360yds
Sundara Silk Lace weight Cherry Blossom 100gms / 1000yds

There are more exciting prizes to tell you about, and I'll get to them as soon as I can. I will also give you a tally soon so you can know how we're doing.
The fund drive will end October 31st, to coincide with the deadline of sending in your scarves. Paula will make the prize drawings shortly thereafter.
Click here to be taken to the secure Paypal website to make your tax-deductible donation, and then email us at [email protected] to let us know how much. For every $5 you donate, you get a chance at the wonderful prizes I've been describing over the last several days.
