91. Well, That's a Relief, Given My Profession and All

249 words

Speed test*

And Yoohoo!  It's April 1st, and I have a PERFECT SCORE for Blog 365.  In fact, I have an A++, since I've written every day since not only January 1, 2008, but since November 1, 2007.  It appears that some people were (maybe) RIGHT:  I am crazy enough to do this, and I do indeed have something to say every.single.day.  I'm not sure that is a great distinction, though. I have shared car and train and plane rides with people who NEVER SHUT UP, not for EVEN ONE SECOND.  I don't want to be one of those.

*  April Fool's! I cheated. My real number was 86, but that was a little low, because my spouse entered the room while I was typing and asked me questions which I answered while doing the test. So I changed the HTML, And I figured if I'm cheating, I might as well go for broke. hahahaha.
But I didn't cheat about Blog 365. That's for real.

I actually fell for it. I was like "Holy Freaking Shit!" I knew she was fast, but is she bionic?! Yup, I'm almost a PhD. {snort}

Yeah, and I know how to use quotation marks too. {sigh}

Well you got me! LOL!

Good for you on the perfect score Blog 365 :) I did a solid month of blogging a short while ago and found it difficult but it was fun!

Just tatoo "sucker" on my forehead. I feel better. You do type faster than I do (you'd better), but not astronomically so. My son appreciated that I type faster than his computer teacher. Yes, that made me smile.

Ah, we're into the minimalistic period here at this here Norma blog, whatever it's name is. Very sparse. I'm snapping my fingers in response.
I was imagining your fingers flying at the speed of light. So sue me.
xo

OMG, here I was thinking I was a complete DUNCE with my 40 words a minute! Horrifying, yes but I'll thrilled to be about half your speed rather than the 1/80 I thought I was :)

There's a world of difference between people who never shut up because they just never.shut.up. and you, Norma, because I never want YOU to shut up. Mwah!

Me, too! Every day since November 1st. I think we are soft as shit if you want to know the truth.

Yeah, I believed it.

Psych.

ok, now i don't feel so bad with my 79 wpm. i'm typing faster now than when i was in high school, lol!

and you, norma, are a stinker, lol.

congrats on the 365, though, i always knew you were a wordy so & so.

And here I thought it was correct...it could be, I've seen you type.

wow that's some speedy typing!! i just tried and got 60... if we were on the highway I'd maybe see a flash of your licence plate but that be about it! love your blog!! :-)

The thing is, I never doubted the 249 wpm for a second. I was just trying to figure out why your keyboards weren't spontaneously combusting right, left and center.

(89 wpm here)

Haha, that's a pretty good April Fool!

I type twelve words a minute and many of them are correct. I think my niece can talk 249 words a minute. And you are Norma who is one l short of normal, so why shouldn't you be able to type that fast?

249! That is hilarious... I was dumbfounded when I saw that. Then though, crap... .I must type slow! Der.
I got a 61 with two errors (one was that I hit the space bar twice and it skipped over the next word, booooo!)

Oh, may I add that I got a 61 and I haven't had my coffee yet! Maybe I'll try again in a few hours when I'm awake. :P fun!

Damn. You ARE fast... at 86 even... with distractions. No, you're not 'one of those'... :^)

You should not do that to old people who thought they were pretty good at 48. Just saying.

Its so satisfying to be right.

You made me do it. 72 words per minute. Not bad. Typing was the only useful thing I learned in junior high.

I just did it -- 75 words per minute -- 13 mistakes.

I wondered if you were using your steno to get that speed! I got 84 so I've slowed down a bit since becoming a SAHM. Damned kids! ;)

Only 249? Dang,I would have guessed much higher for the all-powerful Norma. Ee-way are not orthy-way. Hee-hee. Happy April Fool's Day!

67 is just not good enough

Whoa -- 86 still is amazing. I took that test yesterday and only got 49wpm.

E-ville! Though this typing test was easier than the one I took at Fletcher Allen back in the day when I was looking for an admin job. I score 71 with 3 errors. You'll just have to guess which part of that is an April Fools. *snerk*

You had me going there! A happy April Fool's Day to you too. I think my best was 63, which surprised me a bit. I don't usually type for speed, though, and I'm used to being able to backspace if I make a typo, so I don't work too hard at avoiding them.

Being commitment-phobic, I didn't sign up for Blog 365, but I decided to try it and I too have a perfect score -- well, I haven't blogged today yet, but I have time. I do have trouble finding words sometimes (not like me!), and fall back on pictures, but on the whole it's been pretty easy. An upside is that I get to write about stuff that I would have thought about and then blown off because it would be old news by the time I got around to it.

I need to remember to take that test sometime (maybe in the next day or so when life is a bit less insane). I know I should be over 60 wpm, because IRC was good for increasing my speed tons in college but not how much over.

I got 62 words with 2 mistakes - not bad for an ergonomic keyboard

Happy 365ing - 9 more months to go :-)

Yup. I fell for it, too. I thought to myself, "Well, she is a court reporter..." Hah-ha! Very funny, Norma.

Actually, I wouldn't have been surprised if 249 was your real number.

Me, I'm not even trying, I know I type slow. (Although not as slow as I used to!)

You really got me; I did not even question that you typed that fast. I did the test and only got 78 wpm (no errors! yay me! yay 10th grade typing class!). I didn't mind being slower than YOU. But that much slower? Like so slow you'd feel sorry for me? I couldn't take it!

Congrats on blabbing every day. It's hard to do and you do it well. xox Kay

Am I still an April Fool if I actually didn't blink at your score and thought it possible?

Cheers, lady!

-S.Kate, a two finger typist [who uses four fingers and a thumb] clocking in at a mighty _____ (you fill in the blank) 37 words per minute without errors.

72 here and that's just because i kept back spacing to make corrections. i took typing in highschool and for many years it was the only marketable skill i had.

107 wpm. But as I have noted previously, I am an editor. And I learned to touch-type in grade school.

Wouldn't your fingers fall off if you really typed that fast?

I'm so glad you're sticking with the daily blogging.

huh. I did
347?

whoah.

oops. I went back. More like 74 lol. that was characters per minute (sorry)

103 word a minute but I haven't cut my nails lately and I'm on a lap top. I feel like such a slacker compared to my old typing days. Typing dictation for lawyers will do bad things to you over time but it sure does keep the old fingers nimble!

Vixen! I totally believed you!

I got 86 and consider myself a fair typist (although I haven't done it for a living for a few years now) so your 249 filled me with distress.

I think you owe me a tomato.

Great job on the banner, btw. That Dave is a genius.

I did not score up there with the tops, but I am thrilled to have made it through the latest round of Sock Madness.
