That is the No. 2 most common (and pretty common) Google (from Google Mexico) for this blog. Yes, indeed, who the hell IS Norma? There must be some Mexican famous person, dead or alive, whose name is Norma. Or they want to know "who is normal"? That one I'd like the answer to, also.
Happy Friday to you all! I'm hermitted in my house, the car is getting a new gas tank, and I'm trying to pick away at the mountain of work I have. Speaking of mountains, wow, did Mount Mansfield ever look pretty on my drive home from my deposition yesterday. It's just a molehill compared to Margene's mountains, but it's the biggest one we've got.
This reminds me of a story. (What doesn't?)
When I was visiting some lovely friends in North Wales -- they were the parents of my boss at the BBC -- the husband told me he was going to take me to see a particular river, a place where we could buy some fresh fish. He said to me, "Well, you're American. Everything is bigger in America. To us, it's a river. To you, it'll just be a ditch."
You know what? Ditch.
Which reminds me. They are one of a handful of couples I send Xmas cards to, and I'd better get on that. I haven't done that yet this year. They were the sweetest things EVER, they were such good hosts to me a couple of times, and then with Abigail and David along another time. We have kept up correspondence all these years. I've totally lost contact with their son, my former boss, but I still exchange several letters a year with them. Their son, my former boss, has written a sexy novel, and I think it's a bestseller. I don't think it's in print in England, but it was translated and it's a bestseller in someplace like Denmark. We all have a great laugh about this.
Work.
Hate to break it to ya, darlin, but they're asking "WHAT is Norma." "Who" is "quien." Seriously. Don't be offended. They probably want to know how such a delightful, magical creature could possibly walk the earth with we mere mortals.
(MWAH!)

What IS Normal anyway? That subject is just too deep for this morning!
You are getting a gas tank for Christmas? You lucky dog, you!

What is Normal, or one 'L' away from normal?! See, everything comes full circle eventually. Don't you love when that little truism makes you an international celebrity?

Some things just improve in translation.

DH doesn't have to be to work today! So I'm reading blogs early, hurray! And you linked to me on a day with no mountain pictures but if they look around a little I'm sure there is something on Monday.
Why be normal? It's not all it's cracked up to be. Work hard so you can play soon!!

So, tell us more about the novel. Maybe we can make it a best seller.

In Spanish norma = norm, rule, or standard. So they're actually asking, "what's the norm?". Perhaps if they were a LITTLE more specific about which norm they were seeking, they'd have more luck!

Ahh... Images of pretzel covered Golding Spindles mocking you... isn't that a sign of Diet Coke/Pepsi addiction?

Now, who is in this novel? Did he maybe fashion a zesty female protagonist - an american free spirit who runs away with the hearts of all those proper English Gentlemen?
ps - I knew you weren't a scrooge! We're all a bit grumbly about the whole thing at this point!

That's because Danish people are very hip and in tune with great things.
Really.
Signed,
A Danish person
